Charles R. “Chuck” Middleton, Chairman
Charles R. “Chuck” Middleton has served as the fifth President of Roosevelt University since
July 2002. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Dr. Middleton has been a university
professor or administrator for 36 years. Prior to joining Roosevelt, he was Dean of the
College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Provost and Vice
President of Academic Affairs at Bowling Green State University, and Vice Chancellor for
Academic Affairs at the University System of Maryland. Dr. Middleton earned an A.B. degree
with honors in history from Florida State University and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in history
from Duke University. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, attending Cubs and White Sox
baseball games, and cooking for friends.

Dr. Richard F. Wilson, Vice-Chairman
Dr. Richard F. Wilson took office as Illinois Wesleyan's 18th president on July 1,2004.
A West Virginia native, Wilson earned the B.S. degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in
Philippi, W.Va. He majored in education and mathematics and won honors in both academics
and athletics. Wilson pursued advanced degrees at the University of Michigan, earning both
an M.A. and Ph.D. in Higher Education. Wilson and his wife, Pat, have two children:
a son, Adam, who lives in San Francisco, and a daughter, Rachel, who lives in Springfield, Ill.

Dr. Warrick L. Carter, Secretary-Treasurer
Dr. Warrick L. Carter has served as President of Columbia College Chicago since 2000. Prior
to joining Columbia, Dr. Carter was the Director of Entertainment Arts for Walt Disney
Entertainment. During his tenure at Berklee College of Music he served as Dean of Faculty
and then as Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs. His teaching experience includes
appointments at Governors State University, University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and Michigan
State University. As a composer and performer Dr. Carter has created works for the National
Endowment for the Arts, the Chicago Symphony Orchestral Association and the Chicago Chamber
Orchestra, has recorded on the Mark and Capital labels and performed in concert and at festivals
worldwide. He serves on the boards and advisory boards of numerous civic, educational, and
professional organizations including Interlochen, International House of Blues Foundation,
Rotary International, and the Lincoln Library. He holds a Ph.D. in music education from
Michigan State University.
